Adam Levine says his most frequently-asked question is about Blake Shelton.
Levine shared his reaction to some of his standout moments on The Voice ahead of his return in the upcoming season. Levine will serve as a coach with John Legend, Michael Bublé and first-time coach Kelsea Ballerini in the show’s 27th season. Shelton, a longtime coach who left The Voice in 2023, appeared in one of the throwback clips Levine watched.
“Of all the performances we saw today, they were all great except for one. Some guy named Adam Levine felt the need to try to audition for us, and I did hit my button. That’s just because I wanted to see what the freak looked like,” Shelton said after Levine performed.
Levine laughed after watching the clip.
“Ugh. Blake Shelton. Wow. Yeah. Hate him,” he said. “There’s only one question since day one of shooting The Voice that I am ever asked. (It’s) not on the music, not ‘what was your inspiration behind writing ‘She Will be Loved,’’ nothing cool. The only question that anyone ever asks me is ‘what is Blake like?’ And I hate it. Yeah. Love him though. Oh, no. sorry. Hate him.”
