Carrie Underwood took the stage to perform during an Easter church service around Nashville, Tennessee.
Some of the churchgoers shared videos of Underwood's performance on social media following the service. Backed by a choir, the eight-time Grammy winner, 43, delivered a powerful rendition of âHow Great Thou Artâ in a clip shared by digital creator @emilyunscripted on Instagram on Sunday (April 5). She wrote in her caption that âwhen Carrie Underwood sings at your Easter service (itâs) just one of those moments you donât forget. The kind that gives you chills and makes you pause for a second. âŠgrateful for this day, this message, and moments that feel a little extra special.â She added a second clip on Instagram later, writing that âour Easter service with Carrie Underwood was just too wonderful not to share one more.â A fan account for Underwood shared a clip from Rolling Hills Community Church YouTube Live, showing the country artist's performance of âName Above All Namesâ by Charity Gayle. âShe sounds beautiful as always!â
This wasnât the first time Underwood seemed to surprise attendees of a local church with a stunning performance. In September 2025, for example, churchgoers watched Underwood perform âPour Your Spirit Outâ at a church in Franklin, Tennessee, outside of Nashville. In August 2024, videos circulated of Underwood performing âGoodness of Godâ at Rolling Hills Community Church.
âHow Great Thou Artâ appeared on Underwoodâs Grammy-winning gospel record, My Savior, in 2021. The country star emotionally said after winning a Grammy for the project, âthis is one of the most important bodies of work Iâve ever been a part of, been able to do. This is one thing that Iâve wanted to do literally my whole career. Iâve wanted to make this album, and I got to, and this just means the world to me.â
Underwoodâs Easter performance arrives days after she performed âHow Great Thou Artâ on American Idol, teaming up with 2025 Platinum Ticket winners Filo, Canaan James Hill and Kolbi Jordan. Watch that performance here.
