Dustin Lynch admits he “ain’t easy to love” in the lyrics of his summer-worthy single that released on Friday (May 30).

The Tullahoma, Tennessee-born country star wrote “Easy To Love” with Ben JohnsonJon Robert HallHunter Phelps, and Zach Crowell. The “autobiographical narrative” shows that Lynch “is the first to admit he’s stubborn, restless, and tough to pin down when it comes to matters of the heart,” reads a press release issued Friday morning to announce the country star’s breezy new anthem. The release notes lyrics that confess Lynch’s runaway habits, though he remains open to relationships: “I’m still thinkin’ maybe one day I’ll find her/ They always say when you know, you know/ If I know me, she’ll be my next right turn/ But I’ll take a left just to see where it goes

“This heart ain’t easy to love/ This heart ain’t easy to love/ It’s a little too cold, a little too stuck/ A little too broke, a little too drunk/ This heart ain’t easy to love/ This heart ain’t easy to love”

“Easy To Love” is the latest song to release from Lynch since his 12-track album, Killed The Cowboy, arrived in 2023. That album included “Chevrolet,” a collaboration with reigning 2025 iHeartRadio Music Awards Country Artist of the Year, Jelly Roll. Lynch said in a recent interview on Steve & Gina in the Morning — iHeartRadio’s Kat 103.7, based in Omaha, Nebraska — that his connection with Jelly Roll happened “organically,” and the collaboration has “gone on to be one of the biggest hits of my career.” It joined “Thinking ‘Bout You,” “Stars Like Confetti,” “Small Town Boy,” “Ridin’ Roads,” “Good Girl,” “Party Mode” and other career-spanning hits.
