5 People Arrested In Connection To Pop Smoke Murder

Three men and two juveniles have been arrested in connection to the murder Pop Smoke.

According to TMZ, the five individuals were taken into police custody after the Los Angeles Police Department served multiple search warrants around the Los Angeles area early Thursday morning (July 9).

Sources told the outlet, it's unclear what the suspects are being charged with, but all five suspects will be interviewed by police and then booked.

"Early this morning, search and arrest warrants were served in several locations in the city of Los Angeles," a spokesperson from the LAPD Media Relations Division confirmed, per USA Today. "The warrants were all related to the February 19 murder of Bashar Jackson, also known as Pop Smoke. Robbery-Homicide Division has three adult males and two juvenile males in custody. Once they are questioned and completely booked, we will be able to provide the booking information."

The 20-year-old rapper was fatally shot at a property he was renting in Hollywood Hills on February 19. While early reports suggested that Pop was the victim of a home invasion, investigators said they were looking at all possible motives, including the "Dior" rapper being the victim of a targeted hit.
